Inspired by a true story, The Shanghai Madonna is a portrait of two determined lovers from different countries who face incredible obstacles in war-torn China between 1930 and 1950. While their romance is tested by a war and a revolution, they become the focus of an international incident that brings two countries to the brink of war.
The Shanghai Madoona, which won first place in historical fiction in the 2009 Florida Writers Association competition, portrays the turbulent times that produced the China of today.
